The summer bunker project is underway!
Walter Hall is in great shape as we start the summer. It is truly one of the best manicured public golf courses in the area. If you haven’t played Walter Hall for a while, come out and experience the ever improving golf course and watch the new bunker installation as 6 bunkers were added last fall and this past spring and 5 more bunkers are added this summer.
The summer bunker project is underway with construction started on two new bunkers left of the 8th green. Once they are constructed the bottom of each bunker have a sod liner added that allows water to pass through, but works as a barrier to keep the sand from mixing with the dirt and rock below. That sod barrier must grow for a little while to adequately knit before the sand can be filled in. So once the sod barriers are install on hole number 8, construction will move to building two fairway bunkers on the right side of hole number 15 and a right front greenside bunker on hole number 16.

Walter Hall and Legion Memorial are host courses for the 4th Annual Everett Men’s Amateur Championship July 21 & 22 and for the Joe Richer Junior Golf Club that runs through-out the summer. Also, there are still some spots available for the Joe Richer Memorial Golf Tournament. This fundraising event helps fund the Joe Richer Junior Golf Club which provides quality low cost instruction and tournament events for area junior golfers.
