From Our New President
Welcome to our 2011 season! This year promises to be good, with lots of events scheduled. I'm looking forward to helping make your season great. The course is in great shape and getting better each year due to the outstanding efforts of our grounds crew, headed up by Den-nis.
All of you are invited to our club meet-ings, which are usually held on the first Thursday of each month at 5:00pm in the WEH restaurant where we post our scores. Come join us and see what goes on behind the scenes. We can always use fresh ideas. We look forward to meeting you and answering any questions you may have about the club.
I also want to thank the rest of our board in advance for a great 2011 season.
Your President,
Terry L. Cressey
From the Secretary
I apologize for the delay in getting this newsletter out to you. This is my first one as your new secretary.
Our first men's club event is Super Bowl Sunday so I know that I'm cutting things too close.
Brian Wimer is our new Vice President (Tournament Chairmen), and will be running our events this year. Any help you can give him is appreciated. He has 22 days of events scheduled. Stroke play is the name of the game this year. The Home & Home will be a Field Day, and should be the biggest event with both clubs in the pot.
The new tournament schedules are together with the board's contact information. I hope you find this handy.
The Google group web site is no more. That system no longer worked for me. As secretary, I will have more time to work with Premier on getting results up on the city web site.
We will be getting our Tee Times beginning Friday morn-ings by calling the club house. Unless weather is a factor, tee times are usually slid up to the first group's time and built from there. Call 425-353-4653 Ext. #1.
Last year, our men's club collected $430 for Washington State Junior Golf Association. Elden Williams added another $270.34 with the golf tips that should have us all shooting low-er scores. That's over $700 dollars for the kids!
Thank you for helping to share the game.
Ron Sisko
PS: Elden would like to thank all of us for keeping our rounds to the 4:20 time frame. He has a new book, please check it out.
From Moe
Sr. Tournament's
Welcome back all you seniors for our 2011 season. Our senior events will start with April 6th's KICK-OFF SNEAK. We have 26 days of golf in our 2011 season. Remember, all players 55 years and older are eligi-ble for our senior tournaments. With your continued support I look forward to another GREAT golfing season for our O.V.G.C. Seniors."
